Expense Split
Built for quick shared costs and detailed real-world receipts, from first entry to final settlement.
Split equally, assign exact amounts or itemize a receipt across selected members.
Save people and member lists, find recent choices quickly and add a group in fewer steps.
Handle tax, service charges, receipt adjustments, top-ups and Discount or Bonus Balance details.
Record expenses in their own currencies, keep group FX rates and settle in one chosen currency.
See balances by expense currency, get deterministic settlement suggestions and track final settlement.
Export a Toolora group file so someone else can import and edit their own independent copy.
Review spending and member shares, then create detailed PDF or Excel reports for reconciliation.
Your data stays on your device unless you explicitly export and share a file.
From receipt to settlement
Add notes and receipt references, choose Equal, Exact or Itemized, include payment adjustments when needed, and keep balances clear in every expense currency. When it is time to settle, Toolora can apply your group's FX rates and record that final settlement is complete.
Toolora group files
A .toolora file carries an editable copy of a group. It does not create live synchronization or change the sender's group.
Create a Toolora group file on your device.
Send it using the iOS share sheet or save it to Files.
The recipient opens it in Toolora as a separate editable group.
Excel workbooks are for reporting and reconciliation only; they cannot be imported back into Toolora.
SpendFlow
Every Space in SpendFlow has one base currency for simple day-to-day totals — record an expense in any currency and your Space's overall "Total Expenses" figure stays in that one currency, converted automatically.
Cash-out works differently. It tracks spending and cash-out the same way people actually pay: in whatever currency the money moved, without quietly blending it into one number.
| Scenario | What you record | How it shows up in Cash Out |
|---|---|---|
| Local expense, local account | An SGD expense paid from an SGD payment method | Shown natively as SGD — no conversion |
| Spending abroad, matching account | A EUR expense paid from a EUR-denominated account | Shown natively as EUR, kept separate from your SGD totals |
| Spending abroad, no matching account | A USD expense with no linked USD payment method | Converted and shown in your base currency |
| More than one currency in a month | Some spending in SGD, some in EUR | "Money Paid Out" splits into one line per currency instead of blending them together |
| Installment plan payments | A card installment plan, in any currency | Always shown in your base currency |
The two totals won't always match — SpendFlow explains exactly why instead of leaving you to guess.
A breakdown, shown in the app and included in the PDF export, groups the gap by reason: bills that are due but not yet paid, prepaid expenses spread over several months while paid in one lump sum, installment purchases recorded upfront but paid off over time, stored-value top-ups whose cash already moved, and purchases that settle later through a credit-card repayment.
